Jump Start Your Practice: Alignment Series Workshop

Jump start your practice and fine tune your alignment with an asana tune up with Jenna Silva. Each week will investigate a different aspect of your practice in the following order: Sun Salutations, Standing Asanas, Standing Balancing Asanas, Revolved Asanas, Hip Openers and Twists, Inversions and Arm Balances. The workshop will begin with pranayama (breath work) and end with savasana (deep relaxation). Throughout this series workshop you will:

  • Learn the foundations of each asana (pose)

  • Discover the tools needed in each asana for proper alignment increasing it’s benefits

  • Visit the appropriate variations in your asana practice suitable for your body’s needs

  • Learn to safely transition between asanas

  • Further fulfill your practice mentally, physically & spiritually

a five week gentle yin yoga series to soothe lower back pain, improve flexibility and reduce stress

Join Marcy for another delightful series of gentle yoga classes, now with the incorporation of yin yoga postures to relax and unwind at the end of your week.  Designed to clear your head and unkink the body after a long day, this series is accessible to almost everyone, especially those who need to avoid pressure on wrists, knees and shoulders.  Yin yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more invigorating yoga styles. In yin yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive release for the deep layers of connective tissue in the body.  Yin yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees.  The relax & renew series will be a combination of gentle yoga flowing postures with the incorporation of the yin yoga postures as Marcy leads you through a practice that restores and harmonizes in a mindful practice that includes breath work, gentle movement, and yoga nidra savasana. You will emerge feeling calm, grounded, and rejuvenated.

Learn and explore alignment and breath awareness while building strength and confidence in each pose.  Go at your own pace linking breath with movement in this fun, dynamic flowing class style.  A great class for every body, room is gently heated.

Join our teachers & staff for tea & refreshments and get to know what pradipika YOGA is all about.

Kid's Yoga

Yoga  can help children learn to be more peaceful, more patient, and more  healthy.They love to laugh and role-play. They have natural curiosity,  creativity, and compassion. Competition, anxiety, bullying, ADHD,  Autism, and obesity are only a few of the challenges facing kids. Yoga  can help!  With their ability to learn through moving, touching and physically experiencing, kids can adapt quickly to the discipline that yoga offers,   opening themselves up to develop balance, social skills, and lasting   friendships. Yoga can also help kids release anxiety, decrease hyperactivity, and manage strong emotions. RYT 200, Laura has lived on the shoreline with her family for 20 yrs. Her quest to harmonize body, mind and spirit led her to begin practicing yoga in the late 90’s, and then on to the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy where she became a Licensed Massage Therapist. She has been actively taking classes and workshops ever since then. She dove head first into the yoga pool studying Kripalu, Ashtanga, Bikhram, Yin, Forrest, and Hatha styles of yoga to name just a few. Although she loves both a strenuous physical practice and time to sit and “be”, most importantly she feels her classes are a blend of these influences which make classes accessible to yogis of all shapes, ages and interests. She feels her style has been influenced by many of the wonderful people she has had the fortune to train with over the years. Among some of these are Bo Forbes, Beryl Bender, Rodney Yee, Ellen Heed, Anna Forrest and most recently Barbara Ruzansky of West Hartford Yoga where she completed her power yoga training. In addition to this training she has completed Level 1 & 2 in Radiant Child Yoga.

Intro to Yoga : A Beginner's Workshop

Join Joanna for an interactive workshop to learn the foundations of yoga to start a regular  practice that will enhance your health and well being. This class is for you if you've never done yoga before, if you don't yet feel ready to venture into the ongoing classes, or if you're a regular practitioner and would like to deepen your practice by revisiting the fundamentals.  Joanna will teach you the basics of simple postures and breath in a methodical way that safely builds your body awareness, strength, and mindfulness. The workshop will have a thorough emphasis on correct anatomical alignment to prevent and heal injuries during exercise practice and in daily life routines.  This series will prepare you to enter yoga basics classes with confidence.   All levels of fitness, flexibility, and athletic ability are welcome.

RYT 200, Joanna began to inquire into the nature of embodiment and presence around the age of twelve. Already a fierce and fluid ballet dancer, Joanna's internal curiosity lead her to yoga and meditation. In graduate school she studied dance, women's studies, and philosophy and later found herself on a journey to discover spirit, embodiment, and humanness.  In 2013 she completed Ana Forrest’s teacher training & enjoys sharing her body wisdom with others.

Growing up as an athlete Aixa's body became tight and out of balance. In her quest for healing through Yoga since 1999, she gravitated to breath and core centered practices. She believes that by connecting and moving from center, Yoga can help us, not only be in the present moment but, become strong and resilient, both on and off the mat. Aixa's training includes Forrest Yoga, Resistance Stretching, Core Strength Vinyasa, Ashtanga Yoga and Thai Yoga Bodywork. Her intention with these practices is to help people connect with their physical and energetic body and how it relates to the world. Aixa is ever so grateful for all the teachers that inspire her in this journey. Classes are challenging, fun and light hearted, rooted on breath, core-strength and proper alignment. PreNatal Yoga Workshop

Join Dana Oliviera to learn appropriate yoga postures, modifications and techniques for safely strengthening the body, mind and spirit during pregnancy!  This workshop is open to women in every trimester of pregnancy.  Enter a peaceful, serene, and nurturing environment designed to stretch and strengthen muscles, energize the body, soothe aches and pains, relieve stress and anxiety, overcome the common discomforts of pregnancy, and develop proper breathing and relaxation techniques.  No prior yoga experience necessary. 

RYT 200, Dana received her training through Innerlight Yoga Studio in Middletown, RI in Vinyasa Flow and completed a 15-hour prenatal yoga training with Jennifer Pettit at Virayoga in NYC. She then went on to complete her 85-hour Yoga Alliance Certification with Beth Donnelly Caban through Integral Yoga in NYC. Dana is an RN and brings 14 years of maternity nursing experience to her classes. She is passionate about women's health and considers it an amazing privilege and honor to support women through their pregnancies and beyond.
