renee

RYT 200, Renee's approach to yoga is energetic, athletic and fun. She emphasizes the fusion of traditional vinyasa movements with contemporary dynamic flow that integrates breath and movement, inner and outer alignment, strength, flexibility and humor mixed with a touch of Tantra philosophy. Her classes are athletically and mentally challenging and uplifting. Renee is an inspiring, empathetic teacher with a clear and playful style of encouraging you to fearlessly navigate your edge, open your heart and boldly dive in to yoga to express your “best self.”

Renee was introduced to yoga more than 30 years ago as part of the conditioning program for her college fencing team. Renee began her journey into an in-depth study and regular practice of yoga. She was certified as a Kripalu Yoga Instructor in 2001 and continues to study different traditions of yoga and body mechanics. She had done advanced teacher training with Yoganand Michael Carroll (Pranakriya Yoga) and Shiva Rae (Pranaflow Yoga) and has trained extensively with Saul David Raye, Seane Corne and many other extraordinary teachers. She regularly practices and studies at Kripalu in Lennox, Massachusetts and at the Sacred Movement Center for Yoga & Healing in Venice, California.

Renee competed in fencing at the collegiate level and competed with her horses in Dressage for more than 20 years. In addition to her daily yoga practice, she is passionate about riding and training her horses. Renee is an avid runner and enjoys boxing and surfing. Renee is a retired homicide detective who recently started her own consulting business.
