Join Joanna for an interactive workshop to learn the foundations of yoga to start a regular practice that will enhance your health and well being. This class is for you if you've never done yoga before, if you don't yet feel ready to venture into the ongoing classes, or if you're a regular practitioner and would like to deepen your practice by revisiting the fundamentals. Joanna will teach you the basics of simple postures and breath in a methodical way that safely builds your body awareness, strength, and mindfulness. The workshop will have a thorough emphasis on correct anatomical alignment to prevent and heal injuries during exercise practice and in daily life routines. This series will prepare you to enter yoga basics classes with confidence. All levels of fitness, flexibility, and athletic ability are welcome.

RYT 200, Joanna began to inquire into the nature of embodiment and presence around the age of twelve. Already a fierce and fluid ballet dancer, Joanna's internal curiosity lead her to yoga and meditation. In graduate school she studied dance, women's studies, and philosophy and later found herself on a journey to discover spirit, embodiment, and humanness. In 2013 she completed Ana Forrest’s teacher training & enjoys sharing her body wisdom with others.
