Invigorate Your Practice With Bandhas

In yoga practice, we strive to build energy, prana, within the body and to direct this energy into the spine. We do this in both a physical practice and through the more subtle components of the energetic body. In Sanskrit, the word bandha means to lock or tighten. In yoga there are five bandhas, or energetic locks, and by learning how to engage them during our asana practice, we move into the deeper and more advanced layers of our practice by harnessing and sealing in our vital energy or prana. In this workshop we will:

  • Dissect and discuss each of the bandhas and discuss why and when we use them

  • Use experiential movement, to learn how to engage each of the bandhas

Move into a complete practice, while effectively and safely incorporating bandhas through asana, pranayama and meditation to harness the energetic potential of the yogic tradition

Come play (on hands and feet) with focus on a step-by-step approach. You’ll leave feeling energized, balanced and lighter in both body and spirit. Class is unheated. All levels welcome.

Donation Class to Support Standing Rock Sioux Tribe

Join Tracee for a vinyasa flow class where 100% of your donation is sent to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to raise funds for the Lakota People's Law Project to help fight the building of the pipeline, and protect their water and land. The Dakota Access Pipeline is proposed to transport 450,000 barrels per day of Bakken crude oil (which is fracked and highly volatile) from the lands of North Dakota to Patoka, Illinois. The threats this pipeline poses to the environment, human health and human rights are strikingly similar to those posed by the Keystone XL.

Our all flow classes offer a well rounded flow, focusing on linking breath and movement. Stoke your own inner fire to build heat with sun salutations, work your strength and flexibility with standing postures that build up to a peak pose. Postures modified for beginners while experienced practitioners are encouraged to play to their edge. Class is unheated.
